Employer: St. John's By-The-Sea Reformed Episcopal Church
Closes: When position is filled
St. John’s-By-The-Sea Reformed Episcopal Church is seeking a new Rector to replace our former Rector who retired after many years of faithful service. We are seeking a Rector who can begin his ministry in the second half of 2018. St. John’s By-The-Sea is a traditional Low Anglican Reformed Episcopal Church that has served the Ventnor, New Jersey community for 125 years. The Church building and Rectory are less than 2 blocks from Ventnor’s beautiful beaches, boardwalk and fishing pier. We seek a dedicated servant of the Lord who will lead this flock biblically and keep with the traditions of the Reformed Episcopal Church. The ideal candidate will love our Lord and Savior, be compassionate, welcoming of all, energetic and comfortable with pastoral visitation. As St. John’s has been a part of Ventnor for so long, the new Rector will need to become thoroughly involved in all aspects of the community. Our Church is mostly comprised of mature adult parishioners with a strong Vestry. Our desire over the next few years is to grow the Church through community outreach and bring in more youth and families. He must have an instructional style of preaching/teaching coupled with a willingness to bring ideas for church growth, worship and community outreach. The Church has a beautiful Sanctuary which seats over 125 persons with a large remodeled two level Parish House attached to the Sanctuary. The Parish House has large meeting halls, classrooms, bath rooms on both levels and a modern kitchen on the lower level. The compensation package for the new Rector includes a fully remodeled Rectory next door to the Church with four bedrooms, new kitchen, central air and partially furnished with all utilities except Cable TV paid by St. John’s. If you are interested, or if you know someone that might be interested in this position, please send a resume or contact our Search Committee through Larry Campbell at the address noted above.
