Job Summary:

Pastor of Discipleship: 25-29 hours/ week Christ Church Jacksonville Anglican CCJAX is located in the western outskirts of Jacksonville FL.  We are accepting applications for our Associate/ Youth Pastor position.  Over the past year the church has been experiencing exciting growth both spiritually and numerically.  The position will primarily focus on our youth ministry but a secondary expectation will be oversight of our media ministry.  The complete picture is this:  When evaluating the primary hinderances to growth at CCJAX it is clear that there is a vital need to upgrade our youth ministry (about 10 students), and with developing and launching our presence across the social network sites.  We are looking for a self starter with strong energy who enjoys creating and developing ministry from a start up level.  A little about us:  We are a diverse church economically, ethnically and spiritually (meaning we have many who have served God for decades and some who are young in their faith walk).  CCJAX is Anglican in tradition and operates with a “3 streams mentality”, which means we embrace the evangelical, charismatic and sacramental expressions in our church life.  Theologically, we draw from broad sources, from the Early Church Fathers to more modern writers such as Leonard Ravenhill, John Bevere, John Wesley and E.M Bounds to name a few.            We have two Sunday services.  The first,  is blended musically and draws on the foundation of our Anglican history.  The other is a more contemporary, “nondenominational” style.  The two services together total around 175 people.  Our Wednesday nights are a mix of potluck dinner, worship time and Bible Study for the whole family.  Finally, we have a strong Celebrate Recovery ministry on Friday nights that enables us to reach many in the local community that are lost and hurting.  QUALIFICATIONS * Mature, growing disciple with a consistent devotional life * Enthusiasm for ministering to students and their families * Passionate about engaging students with the Gospel through worship, teaching and outreach * Ability to work on a team towards specific goals * Ability to work on multiple tasks, be flexible, and work with a team * Capable and influencing team leader with strong interpersonal skills PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -20 hours:  Youth Ministry - Oversee and implement vision of youth ministry (6th-12th) Be the main communicator and provide spiritual guidance for 6-12th grade students, and possibly college age students in the future. - Connect and align with the vision of the church and Rector, creating continuity and consistency.                                     
- Create discipleship methods (small or missional groups) for teaching and developing a relationship with God.                               
- Teach Wednesday and Friday nights - Missional work (attend meals, activities, sports, etc)
- Sunday morning engage students and families,  greet new families with students
- Regular outreach events (Christian concerts, conferences, camps, etc)
- Oversee fundraisers when needed - Monthly staff meetings.  Monthly mentoring with Rector
- Occasionally assist Wed. Morning services and special services (Christmas Eve, Good Friday, etc) 
-Preach Sunday mornings 2-4 times yearly  
- Counseling students
-4 hours:  oversee media and editing teams              
- Administrate volunteer media team Sundays and special services          
- Edit sermons and services for Website            
- Oversee Website / Social Media outreach 
-2 hours:  visitation/ counseling ministry              
- Participate as part of clergy team with Hospital and general visitation as needed                
Requirements * Must excel in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. * Social media experience would be a plus. * Must be passionate about evangelism and leading students in evangelistic opportunities (includes building relationships on school campuses). * Good organizational and administrative skills. * Must be able to work well in a team environment. * Should have a strong work ethic and be self-motivated. * 4-year degree preferred but not mandatory * Must be in alignment with Christ Church Jacksonville’s statement of beliefs * Pass background check.  * Be a mature and growing Christian leader with good moral character and integrity, as set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
