Job Summary:

Truro Church in Fairfax City, VA is seeking a Worship Leader for our Sunday evening contemporary service, as well as weekly classes and other worship gatherings.

The position is part-time if the candidate is only interested in worship leading. To be considered for a full time position, the candidate should have skills that could be applied in at least one of the following areas:

• Worship administration
• Discipleship for youth, children, or young adults
• Evangelism
• The Alpha Course
• Theatre
• Dance
• Spanish ministry

Main Responsibilities:

• Report to the Director of Worship & Arts, work closely with the Senior Associate Rector and the 5pm Leadership team
• Provide oversight and planning for worship offerings at the 5pm Sunday evening contemporary service
• Participate in Sunday Morning worship (possible addition to job)
• Alpha Worship Leader
• Young Adults Worship Leader (possible addition to job)
• Oversee and provide training for leaders of children and youth worship gatherings (possible addition to job)
• Sunday morning services as needed, other duties as assigned

Requirements:
The successful candidate should have strong leadership skills, be a team player, self-motivated and an independent worker.

Since our contemporary program is in its infancy, the candidate should have a heart for teaching and training a team of worship leaders. The candidate should have a willingness to grow with Truro: consistent with our past, willing to help shape our future in contemporary worship. Our congregation reflects a healthy balance of the three main streams in Christian faith: catholic, charismatic, and evangelical. Successful staff members at Truro Church love Anglicanism, and the eclectic style of our Sunday morning worship services led by the Rector.

Candidates must possess a mature and growing Christian faith, and be spirit-filled. Strong musicianship in vocal and guitar skills and the ability to read notated music is required. Candidates must be able to successfully work with a Choir, and keyboard skills are desirable, but not mandatory.
