“Rekindling the Fire” Power in the Church Conference

On Friday, March 25 and Saturday, March 26, Anglican Church in North America Bishops Roger Ames, David Anderson and David Bena will gather in Akron, Ohio to host a conference on the work of the Holy Spirit in individuals and congregations. Additional information is available here, along with registration and hotel details.

The event will take place at St Luke’s Anglican Church located at 565 South Cleveland-Massillon Rd., in Akron and will begin at 7:00 pm on Friday and run from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm on Saturday. The event is open to clergy and lay leaders and all are invited to stay to enjoy the Sunday Eucharistic celebration at St. Luke’s.

The conference will be focused on the presence and power of the Holy Spirit and will aim to rekindle and ignite the Church with fresh fire for mission, two areas that the Province has set out to emphasize and develop. The cost is $15 per person or $25 per couple. A special group rate of $10 per person is available for groups of five or more.

The conference will include sessions on:

•The Power to Serve: “Tools in the Toolbox” with Bishop David and MaryAnne Anderson
•The Power to Break Free: “Generational Healing” with Bishop Roger and Gretsie Ames
•The Power to Heal: “Healing the Whole Person” with Bishop David and Mary Ellen Bena

Worship and personal ministry will be a part of each session with trained prayer teams under the direction of Fr. Michael T. Kraynak, Rector of St. Luke’s.

“It is vital that we all rediscover the power of the Holy Spirit not only for ministry, but for everyday living. It is simply not possible for us to live a victorious Christian life on our own strength. We all need to re-appropriate the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit,” said Anglican Church Bishop Martyn Minns of the Convocation of Anglicans in North America.

“Some of us were blessed to be part of the Charismatic Renewal of years ago – it transformed our lives – but we cannot depend on the gifts of the past. We all need to experience again the Holy Spirit who is the Lord and giver of life. ‘Rekindling the Fire’ will be led by three remarkable men of God who I have the privilege of calling friends: Roger Ames, David Anderson, and David Bena. Come and be blessed,” Minns concluded.
