ARDF and Advent 2014 – "Clean Water for Every Community"

Our focus for 2014 is “Clean Water for Every Community.” We will be taking a look at the desperate need for clean water around the world, especially in Peru, and how you can partner with faithful Anglican churches to provide safe drinking water, and Living Water, to impoverished communities around the world.

Advent 2014 Materials:
Materials can be used with individuals, families, and children.
Calendar and Prayer Guide: Each day during Advent, participants will learn something new from our prayer calendar about our Anglican brothers and sisters around the world. Specifically, having the opportunity to place a small donation in a mite box on their behalf. Most importantly, there will be suggested daily prayers for those suffering in poverty this Advent. Consider challenging the adults in your congregation to match or double what children raise with their mite boxes.
Mite box or label: we provide mite boxes to collect small donations or labels can be printed online and affixed to a jar as a simple recycling activity! Please encourage participants to fill out the contact information tab on the mite box and drop in the offering plate to be returned to ARDF. Labels can be printed at www.anglicanaid.net/advent-2014
Optional Water and Sanitation Activities sheet: children or youth can complete these activities to earn extra money from their parents for their mite boxes or jars.
Clean water poster: use this poster to educate your congregation about the need for clean water and what our church is doing to partner with other Anglicans around the world. Consider setting a “water jug” out by the poster to collect extra donations.
Clean Water Video: a short animated video explaining how local Anglican churches are helping to provide clean water—and living water—to communities around the world. The video can be previewed at www.anglicanaid.net/advent-2014
Above all, we ask for your prayers for our Anglican brothers and sisters around the world who are suffering without clean water this Advent.

We have also included a few of our general materials—more can be requested online (www.anglicanaid.net/resources).

We are deeply grateful for your care and compassion for our poor sisters and brothers around the world. By supporting our high-impact, sustainable development projects you are helping to transform lives and communities across the developing world for the sake of Christ.

Blessings to you during this season of Advent!
