Hispanic Anglican Churches are on the move!

The third annual “Caminemos Juntos!” (Let’s Walk Together!) will be held at St. Clements/Rey de Paz Anglican Church in
El Paso, TX on Friday, August 2 – Saturday, August 3, 2013. The conference is a joint mission initiative of Greenhouse and Anglican1000 to equip Anglicans for evangelism and church planting in the Hispanic community.

imageMarcos Witt will be the keynote speaker. A five-time Latin Grammy Award-winning musician, Witt has recorded more than 26 Christian music projects with a multi-million sale of more than 7,000,000 copies in Mexico, Latin America and the United States.

The Most Rev. Héctor Zavala, Bishop of Chile and Presiding Bishop of the Iglesia Anglicana del Cono Sur de América (the Anglican Church of the Southern Cone of America), will be one of the featured speakers at the Caminemos Juntos conference. He is the province’s first Latin American primate, as well as Chile’s first Latino bishop.

The Most Rev. Robert Duncan, Archbishop of the Anglican Church in North America, will also be a featured speaker at the conference.

The Rev. Jonathan Kindberg, a co-facilitator of the Caminemos Juntos! Initiative, recognizes the great need to partner with our Hispanic brothers and sisters. “By 2050 Hispanics will make up one third of the United States,” he said. “Through Caminemos Juntos!, the Anglican Church in North America has begun to tap into this incredible work of God.

“Caminemos Juntos! 2013 is an amazing opportunity to experience a taste of what God is doing in our times and a call to open the Doors for the New Evangelism of Hispanics in North America.” he said.

Other speakers at the conference include the Rt. Rev. Juan Alberto Morales, Bishop of the Diocese of Quincy, the Rev. Canon William Beasley, Director of the Greenhouse Movement, and the Rev. Gabe Garcia, Senior Pastor of Rancho Hills Church in San Diego, CA, and a co-facilitator for the conference.

A wide-variety of workshops will also be offered. They will provide instruction and guidance on how to multiply congregations in a Hispanic context, multi-generational ministry, healing for the family, growing in leadership, engaging in worship in the Hispanic church, and more. Workshops will be available in English, Spanish or both.

With fifty Hispanic congregations growing in the Anglican Church in North America, there are more are on the way. A list of these congregations may be found here.
