The Common Life Commission
About the Common Life Commission (CLC)
The Common Life Commission (CLC) was commissioned by Archbishop Steve Wood in the Fall of 2024 to help bishops facilitate the growth and development of the Church’s unity and common life by serving together as leaders and co-laborers in the work of the Kingdom through the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA).
The CLC is specifically tasked with a few key areas:
-
Overseeing our Episcopal election processes;
-
Equipping Bishops through bi-annual Bishops’ Training Retreats;
-
Support for the regionalization of the Dioceses of the ACNA;
-
Coordinate church planting efforts between dioceses;
-
Address matters related to overlapping jurisdictions;
-
Offer mediation where needed; and
-
Nurture culture and practices that support unity and godly friendship
