PROVINCIAL COUNCIL | JUNE 2025
At Provincial Council in June 2025, Archbishop Wood noted that the province is working to cultivate “good ground” so local congregations and dioceses can plant, tend, and grow healthy churches and leaders.
This is a vision for supporting ministry from the province (sometimes better understood as our central “denominational” office in the US) that is continually being strengthened and refined with specific goals defined and announced at Provincial Council for each new ministry year.
The provincial team pursues this vision of GOOD GROUND through five primary channels to increasingly help create the conditions for healthy ministry to flourish:

FUNDING : Strategic and Sustainable Stewardship
2025 Priority Goal: Build a Legacy Stewardship Fund for Church Planting and Congregational Growth
Provincial staff work to provide strategic funding, grants, and partnerships so parishes and dioceses increasingly have the resources they need for faithful, fruitful ministry and growth.

INFRASTRUCTURE | Reliable Data, Systems, and Staffing
2025 Priority Goal: Develop a Searchable Ministry Database
By reshaping provincial structures and staffing, modernizing financial and data systems, and improving communication the provinve strives to ensure information, support, and encouragement flow more freely across the province.

LEADERSHIP | Ongoing Training and Development
2025 Priority Goal: Establish the Common Life Commission
The College of Bishops will develop an internal way to provide ongoing training and leadership development for bishops and create space to address some of their most pressing challenges.

STANDARDS | Best Practice Policies and Safeguarding Norms
2025 Priority Goal: Implement Title I Reforms with Training Support
The province focuses on safeguarding by continually strengthening its canons, policies, training, and reporting systems to create safer, more trustworthy church environments and addressing discipline when needed to build a culture of accountability.

2025 Priority Goal: Strengthen Local and Global Ministry Partners and Affiliated Ministries
Developing strategic and mutually accountable global and local mission relationships helps build valuable connections for extending the love of Christ to our communities and around the world.
