The following was a letter sent out by Anglican Relief and Development Fund on Thursday evening, September 26, 2024, as Hurricane Helene was making landfall.
Hurricane Helene is going to make landfall tonight.
Helene will cause serious damage. Many people will wake up to devastating circumstances, facing uncertainty and loss. I’ve been calling various ACNA churches in the area, touching base with designated Parish Coordinators and rectors to see how people are and how we can support them. More to come as time moves on, but for now, one of the best ways to help is to pray and give to ARDF’s general relief fund so we can support people as needs arise.
Will you help?
We have some resources for you to share on Sunday morning to help us raise relief funds. Would you be willing to share them?
You can download and use this slide to promote relief efforts, or use these cards in your church bulletin as a way to pray and raise funds for Hurricane Helene Relief.
Pray With Us This Sunday
Almighty God, by your Word you laid the foundations of the earth, set the bounds of the sea, and still the wind and waves. Surround the survivors of Hurricane Helene with your grace and peace, and preserve them. By your Spirit, lift up those who have fallen, strengthen those who work to rescue or rebuild, and fill us with the hope of your new creation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
