Website Saint Andrew's Anglican Church
Saint Andrew’s is seeking their next rector who can engage, inspire, and connect people with Jesus Christ through preaching, teaching and the Sacraments. Saint Andrew’s, founded in 1899, is in downtown Douglas, Georgia. The parish is in a period of growth, seeing new adults and kids attending and engaging. Saint Andrew’s is blessed to have three deacons who actively support ministry both in worship and making pastoral calls, a curate who leads in adult Christian Education and the parish outreach to the local junior college, and a children and youth minister who is also in the ordination process. Worship at Saint Andrew’s follows the 2019 BCP; hymns, psalms, and service music are accompanied by organ; traditional vestments are used and incense lifts our prayers on Feast days. Fellowship is a major part of parish life at Saint Andrew’s, with the parish hosting monthly Sunday morning breakfast, monthly evening dinners, and other events throughout the year.
Douglas and Coffee County is a beautiful community with lots to offer. The Douglas-Coffee County community is home to 43,000+ people and has a wonderful downtown area with local shopping and dining. Douglas is located approximately two hours northwest of Jacksonville International Airport, and three hours south of Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport.
Saint Andrew’s is offering a competitive salary; along with a new ministry incentive that can be used towards student debt, downpayment for a home purchase, or to start an area of ministry that the new rector feels called to begin. The parish and rector profile can be found on the parish’s website. Saint Andrew’s Facebook page gives a great insight into parish life.
