…because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.”

Luke 1:78-79 (ESV) | Zechariah’s Song

This year, the province began orienting its work around the agricultural metaphor of Good Ground, seeking to cultivate the conditions necessary for growing healthy leaders and healthy churches, remembering that it is, “neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.” (1 Corinthians 3:7)

This Advent, we reflect on Jesus Christ as the rising sun, the light of hope.

During Advent, we are reminded of the dark, mysterious season of growth when the ground appears to lie fallow.  Throughout this season of waiting and expectation, we lean on the promise we have in Christ, the rising sun, who brings light and life in every circumstance. He is working, at all times, to bring forth a bountiful harvest in time.

We hope you will consider joining us in this season of hope with a gift to the Anglican Church in North America. Your generosity plays a vital role in helping us faithfully pursue our ongoing mission – in every season –  to reach all of North America with the transforming love of Jesus Christ.
