The Rt. Rev. Julian Dobbs, Dean of the Province of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), attended the October 25 installation of the Most Rev. Dr. Manasseh Gahima as Archbishop and Primate of the Anglican Church of Rwanda, representing the ACNA.
Archbishop Gahima succeeds the Most Rev. Dr. Laurent Mbanda, who served as archbishop for eight years. The installation in Kigali brought together Anglican leaders from around the world, marking an important moment in the shared life and mission of global Anglicans.
Archbishop Gahima, 56, previously served as Bishop of Gahini Diocese and president of the Council of Protestant Churches of Rwanda. He has identified prayer, biblical teaching, pastoral care, and strengthening the Church as priorities for his ministry. He also plans to build on his predecessor’s work while fostering unity, listening to clergy and congregations, and strengthening the Church’s capacity to support its mission.
Archbishop Mbanda continues to serve as chairman of the Global Anglican Council.
