Adapted to the challenges of the American frontier, Asbury Seminary’s own heritage traces directly to Anglican roots through the Wesleys and John Fletcher.
Over the years Asbury Seminary has produced a number of Anglican clergy and scholars. Today there are a number of Anglican faculty and staff including, Dr. Mark Royster, Director of Anglican Formation, Canon Winfield Bevins, Director of Church Planting, Dr. Ruth Anne Reese, Professor of Biblical Studies, and Dr. Bryan Simms, Professor of Leadership, John Cook, Professor of Old Testament, and Patrick Gardella, Chief Technology Officer.
On October 22nd, Asbury Seminary will celebrate the inauguration of the Asbury Anglican Fellowship with special guest Archbishop Foley Beach of the Anglican Church in North America. Archbishop Foley Beach will preach in chapel at 11 a.m. Following chapel, the afternoon features discussions and lectures, exploring ancient Christian practices and priorities retained within the Anglican tradition and their relevance to the mission of the Church today. This special day will end with evening prayer at 5 p.m.
Everyone is invited to join in celebrating Anglicanism at Asbury Seminary on October 22nd. For more information please contact Dr. Mark Royster at mark.royster@asburyseminary.edu.
