Anglican Church in North America College of Bishops Consents to Election of the Rev. Canon Billy Waters as Suffragan Bishop
Vero Beach, FL— The College of Bishops of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA) is pleased to announce that it has formally given its consent to the election of the Rev. Canon Billy Waters as a Suffragan Bishop.
Following a period of prayerful discernment and deliberation during their current seminannual meeting, the College of Bishops affirmed the election for this new role within the Anglican Diocese of the Rocky Mountains. As a Suffragan Bishop, Rev. Canon Waters will serve under The Right Reverend Ken Ross, Bishop Ordinary, assisting in the episcopal oversight, pastoral care, and strategic mission of the diocese.
“The College of Bishops is delighted to welcome Canon Billy Waters to this new role,” said the Right Reverend Julian Dobbs, Dean of the Province. “Billy has long demonstrated a heart for the Gospel, a commitment to the Holy Scriptures, and a tireless devotion to the mission of the Church. We look forward to the fruit his leadership will bear as he transitions into the episcopacy.”
Canon Waters currently serves as Rector of Wellspring Church in Englewood, Colorado. Known for his focus on church planting, leadership development, and evangelism, he has been a pillar of the ACNA community for many years.
He holds a Master of Divinity from Denver Seminary and has served the province in various capacities. Canon Waters and his wife, Janna, have 6 children and are deeply committed to the flourishing of the local church.
The service of Consecration and Ordination is scheduled for Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Mission Hills Church in Littleton, Colorado. Further details regarding the service are available here.
