DTS will prepare you to launch
into the next phase of your life

Youth With a Mission (YWAM) is one of the finest and most effective vehicles for preparing, equipping and mobilizing people to engage in mission around the world. The Discipleship Training School (DTS) is designed to help you understand God more deeply, live more like Jesus and identify your unique gifts and purpose to use in missions.

Now, after years of coordination, the International Diocese of the Anglican Church in North America and Youth With a Mission, are launching an Anglican version of DTS. While maintaining the distinctive initiatives that make YWAM’s Discipleship Training School effective, the experience will be offered from the perspective of Anglican theology and spirituality.

Beginning January 18, 2015, the DTS is a full-time, 26-week residential training course. It begins with an 11-12 week classroom phase, followed by an 8-12 week outreach time in the “10-40 Window,” where the greatest numbers of unreached people groups are found. The DTS emphasizes cross-cultural exposure and global awareness, preparing students to answer the call to “Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19).

The training will be overseen by the bishop of the International Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Bill Atwood, as well as top YWAM leaders from around the world, including senior YWAM mission strategist, Fred Markert. The Team Leader is “D” (from Church of the Resurrection, Chicago, IL). He is an experienced YWAM Team Leader who has most recently been leading the Idaho DTS.

“The teaching and training will be cast in the theology of Incarnation,” said Bishop Atwood. “God fleshing out His love for us in Creation, in Christ, in Redemption, in the Church, and how the Church relates with the world.”

The DTS training will be held at Church of the Resurrection, Flower Mound, TX, and is open to twenty (20) students. This class will target the 18+ year olds who are looking for a gap year/semester experience. Eventually, there will also be DTS classes for those from a “second career” perspective.
