About Us:
Christ Church Anglican, founded in 2007, is an evangelical, High Church Anglican parish in Phoenix, Arizona. We exist to experience together the abundant life offered by Jesus Christ, grounded in sacred worship, transformative truth, and authentic community.
About the Role:
The Associate Rector partners closely with the Rector to shepherd our congregation spiritually and administratively. This role requires a seasoned Anglican priest committed to leading worship, providing pastoral care, overseeing ministries, and equipping laity for discipleship and outreach.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and preach in worship services, officiate special liturgies (weddings, funerals, baptisms).
- Provide compassionate pastoral care and counsel to parishioners.
Develop, oversee, and mentor lay leaders in ministries (discipleship, education, outreach). - Collaborate with the Rector in strategic planning, administration, and operational leadership.
- Represent Christ Church in local community outreach and mission activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Ordained Anglican priest (ACNA or full communion jurisdiction).
- Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent theological education.
- 5+ years of full-time pastoral experience.
- Proven preaching, pastoral care, and ministry leadership abilities.
- Strong alignment with Anglican theology, liturgy, and governance.
- Exceptional communication and collaborative skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ten years of ordained ministry experience is preferred.
- Experience in a liturgical, High Church Anglican parish.
- Previous Associate Rector or senior pastoral experience.
- Background in strategic planning and church administration.
Compensation & Employment Details:
- Competitive compensation range of $85,000–$106,000, based on experience.
- Compensation includes salary, housing allowance, and benefits per church policy.
- At-will employment unless otherwise contracted.
- Sunday and major holidays required, with occasional evenings/weekends.
