ACNA bishops, The Most Rev. Dr. Ray Sutton and the Right Rev. Dr. Ryan Reed, traveled to Latvia last week for the enthronement of a new archbishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia (LELB). Bishop Rinalds Grants was enthroned as the new Archbishop of the LELB on August 30 at Riga Cathedral.
Archbishop Grants was elected at the 30th Synod of the LELB in June, after Archbishop Jānis Vanags, who has been archbishop since 1993, announced his retirement.
