Giving Tuesday Will Be For The Persecuted Church

On Giving Tuesday, November 22, the Anglican Church in North America wants to especially remember our Christian brothers and sisters around the world who are persecuted for their faith in Jesus. Your gifts this year will go to relieve suffering and rescue people like this 5-year-old Christian boy in South Asia who was recently freed from brick kiln slavery and now is a happy school boy! The cost of paying the debt and freeing him, his two sisters, and his dad was less than $200/person. These children had been required to make 1,000 bricks a day and were beaten if they failed to meet this quota. Now, they have a family fruit stand business and the children are free to learn, play, and worship Jesus!

In just the last year*, there have been:

    • Over 360 million Christians living in places where they experience high levels of persecution and discrimination
    • 5,898 Christians killed for their faith
    • 5,110 churches and other Christian buildings attacked
    • 4,765 believers detained without trial, arrested, sentenced or imprisoned

*Based on research by Open Doors

Working with the Anglican Persecuted Church Network, the ACNA will divide your gifts among our partners in Pakistan, Nigeria, Iraq and S.Sudan/Sudan to let them know that we are praying for them and stand with them in their suffering. “Remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them. Remember those who are suffering, as if you were suffering with them.” – Heb. 13:3.
