Sure Foundation: Building Congregations that Thrive

The American Anglican Council would like to share a special ministry opportunity designed to grow your church that is coming this summer.

Background
In 2009 the AAC did a parish needs assessment survey of congregations throughout North America. From this survey, the AAC identified several priority needs among congregations – including the need to develop an agreed upon strategic growth plan, goals and applications for evangelism, discipleship, community outreach, church planting and global mission.

The AAC teamed up with Acts 29 Ministries to pull together practical resources that will also call upon the power of the Holy Spirit. Together they developed the Sure Foundation project.

The pilot Sure Foundation project is well underway in the new Anglican Diocese of the South. Currently, nine congregations and 80 clergy and lay leaders are participating. Enthusiasm and commitment for the program is growing. One Sure Foundation participant, John Kuhnel of Christ the King Anglican in Winchester, Tenn., said, “I found it all very worthwhile! Finally we get the ‘how.’ I have been getting the ‘we must.’ You’ve closed the loop.”

About the Event
In an effort to make the Sure Foundation experience available to even more congregations, the AAC and Acts 29 are offering a four day program at Nashotah House Seminary in Nashotah, WI that will take place June 26-30.

The clergy and lay leader team from your congregation is invited to join this special opportunity to grow your church. During these four days you will cover the first three sessions (21 teaching hours) of Sure Foundation. Everyone is welcome to participate, from an individual church to a diocesan group. The larger your group, the more affordable it becomes. You will enjoy prayer-filled time to reflect on the mission of your church and the peaceful surroundings of Nashotah House.
