What It Is & Why It Matters
What It Is
The Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON) is an international gathering of Christians representing the majority of the world's Anglicans. The first conference took place in Jerusalem in 2008, and became a rallying point for unity within an otherwise fractured Communion. Now, in 2013, the conference convenes in Nairobi with 1,200 delegates from around the world.
Why It Matters
Digital communication has made the world a smaller place, but when it comes to building relationships in the global community there is still no substitute for spending time face-to-face. Reflecting the diversity of the orthodox Anglican community, delegates will worship, learn, and break bread together; forging relationships that will help set the future of orthodox Anglicanism.
